Eating
JJ still loves to eat. Surprise, surprise. He's now eating 4 times a day, nursing in the morning and at night, with 2 bottles in between. He eats fruit in the morning, and veggies and fruit in the evening. His new favorite in his mesh feeder bag is grapes. Yum! He has puffs pretty much every day. He's also had pumpkin bread, regular bread, crackers...I think that's pretty much it. He'll try anything I give him.
Sleeping
JJ still sleeps 11 or 12 hours a night, with 2 naps during the day (averaging 2 hours each). His new thing now is sleeping on his belly! For most of his naps, he flips himself over and sleeps that way. He has yet to do it at night though. The past couple nights he's been coughing a lot, so that's made sleeping rough...but he's still doing really well.
Playing
He loves to play. He'll play for long stretches on his own, just sitting or laying on his playmat. Makes it nice for me, I can actually fold laundry, do dishes or clean the toilet! He just loves to sit next to his toy bin and empty the whole thing out! His favorite things lately are books that make noise when you push the buttons. He loves when I sing, "If You're Happy & You Know It." Watching him figure out cause and effect is just so cool. He's a little smarty-pants. :)
Developing
Where do I begin? He's sitting up like a pro. He knows how to wave! Loves to roll. Loves to pet Zoe. When he's on his belly he scoots backwards...can't go forward yet! John just recently taught him to give five, and it's the cutest thing ever. He gives kisses with a wide open mouth. He's almost mastered his pincer grasp. He can get a puff from his highchair tray to his mouth about 50% of the time. I'm still trying to teach him the sign for 'more.' He smiles when I do it, and make him do it, but he doesn't do it on his own. When I get him dressed he knows to push his arm through the arm hole. When I get him undressed, he knows to pull his arm down to get it out of the sleeve. JJ will often go from sitting to his belly when he wants to reach something. He loves to stand next to things, always being held onto, of course! Still loves to put almost everything he touches into his mouth. Still only has 2 teeth!
Stats
No doctors appointment until 9 months, so all I know is he's a chunker who's eating and growing!! He's been sick the past couple days which is no fun. We had him up one night at midnight because of his cough. Almost called the doctor, but didn't. Oh, the joys and worries of parenthood.
Happy 7 Months little man...the best 7 months of our lives!
